In 2030 it is estimated for Bangkok’s population to reach 10 million. There is 30,000 taxis found in Bangkok city. The population has slowly increased since 1975. 69% of Thailand’s urban population is found in Bangkok. Most of the population are native Thais, Bangkok is coming less diverse with different cultures.
Religion
Buddhism is the predominant religion in Bangkok, with monks, temples, spirit houses, Buddha images and statues everywhere you look. It is the most popular religion in Bangkok as 95% of people who live in Bangkok follow Buddhism. 4% of Bangkok’s population follow Muslim while Christians, Hindus, Confucians, and Sikhs account for less than one percent. There are more than 400 Buddhist temples in Bangkok.

Migration is a major problem that Bangkok faces. It is causing over-population from migration from rural areas. People continue to move from the rural areas into the urban areas of Bangkok. Many migrants move because of more work opportunities and better facilities in the urban areas. It is more likely for males to migrate to Bangkok than women, many educated or young. Migration can also change depending on the economy and the amount of work available.

Thai is the official language of Bangkok. In Bangkok Thai is spoken faster than any other city in Thailand. English is the second language of the educated in Thailand and is mainly spoken in Bangkok.
